Created by Laurence Hauben, Market Forays offers more than cooking classes.
It opens a window into a more gracious, relaxed, and happier way of life.
Sharing the bounty of local, seasonal foods was just the beginning.

I am very excited to introduce a new dimension I call "Art de Vivre."

I know, it is hard for English speakers to pronounce, but trust me, this French inspired "Art of Living" is well worth discovering.
Whether you join me and master painter Hank Pitcher for a day in the California Countryside,
or decide to accompany us on a once-in-a-lifetime journey to France, your world will be transformed.

Art de Vivre in California

Spend a day steeped in the rustic beauty of the California landscape.
This experience will open your eyes to a whole new way of looking and relating to the world around you.

The Genius of France is not only its cuisine. It is the art of enjoying life, the ability to weave pleasure, beauty, and style into every moment of the day.
Join us next spring and make this French Art de Vivre part of your life.

Falling in love is so easy

To automatically receive updates and invitations to new classes, please fill out the form below.
I promise not to inundate you with e-mails, and never to sell your contact information to anyone.

From my French childhood I inherited a love of cooking and an almost visceral passion for fresh, high quality ingredients.
The years I spent in Africa taught me true hospitality. The gift of spending my adult life in California has been increasing freedom, grounded in French techniques but emboldened by the multi-ethnic richness of the New World.
The result is a colorful cuisine that follows the seasons, centered on the amazing ingredients
grown and raised by small producers who have become my friends.
When you join my table, you are invited to share not only in the food, but also in the friendship.

I look forward to cooking with you,

Laurence
